rub a lucky llama´s foot

Well, this weekend was fine, I slept for most of it because I had the flu, bleah. Actually, I´m still recovering some. Ah well, better than the weird infections/parasites I usually get from traveling, at least a flu is familiar territory. Speaking of territory, I did get to visit Barranca and PANC (Proyecto Arqueologico de Norte Chico, the group I worked with the last 2 summers) as well as have a chat with Kit and Haas. Things there seem to really be rolling this summer; they´re doing some excavation, some survey, all sorts of things. And turns out there´s 2 people already working some with the Huacho museum, trying to catalogue and care for stuff. they´ve arranged a 2 yr permission. They were quite excited to hear what I had found about the Getty grant money, and think I definitely have enough museum experience to help out a lot. I´ll have good support for my plan, then. As for La Centinela (site I´d like to diss at), it looks possible. I´ll go back another weekend still to get some GPS points. Besides that, in my talk with Kit, we figured out the chain of events for stuff. Overall, the gameplan for this coming year is laid out pretty well.

Ok, I managed to get three pics on here. It´s not a hard process, but it´s so incredibly slow I don´t have the patience for more than that for now. I´m talking around10 min per pic. It´s just because the computers and the connections are so terrible. Anyhow, the first one is super-cool, it is an offering (modern-times) of a conch shell tied to a llama hoof with a red candle next to it. Someone was evidently making some sort of petition to the ancients. The second is a general one of a small part of the site; yes, it´s always that grey looking. The third is of a room with some silos.

Nope, that´s not the city, that´s just a little tiny town nearby and part of a factory. Lima is much bigger and about an hour away.

What´s with the weird underlined sections? I´ll try to figure out how to take that off.
